2-Person Relay
Double the fun--Sacramento’s largest half marathon also has a two-person relay! If you're not ready for 13.1 by yourself, just grab a friend and take part in the Shamrock’n two-person relay.

Relay Start

Relay Course Description
Leg 1 (7.1 miles) : From the start line at Raley Field you head across the historic Tower Bridge into downtown Sacramento. You’ll have an amazing view of our state capitol. Other highlights: Crocker Park, the marina, Old Sacramento and another pass on the Tower Bridge into West Sacramento to the Exchange Zone.
Leg 2 (6.0 miles) : After successfully exchanging the wristband with your relay partner in the Exchange Zone the route will wind through the middle of West Sacramento. Highlights include: The Rivers housing development located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers, and the distinctive Pyramid Building. Save some energy for the slight uphill to the Riverwalk with views of a bygone era and a glimpse of paddlewheels and historic buildings across the river in Old Sacramento. You can almost hear the roar of the crowd at Raley Field from here as you head out along 3rd street to the finish on the third base line at Raley Field.
Exchange Zone
The two-person Relay Exchange Zone is located in West Sacramento between 3rd & 4th Street on West Capitol Ave. On race day 2nd leg runners will follow large Relay Exchange Zone signs from Raley Field to the exchange zone on West Capitol Ave. This is only a 600 meter walk.
The exchange zone will be well marked and staffed with volunteers. In addition, there will be water available at the exchange zone for finishing 1st leg runners.

Relay participants receive:
- Brooks short sleeve technical shirt.
- Unique shamrock medals for all races finishers
Where do I Park?
Both members of the relay team should plan on parking in the designated parking areas at Raley Field. The start line is at Raley Field. The Exchange Zone is walking distance from Raley Field. We’ll have signage leading you from Raley Field to the Exchange Zone.
Post Race
Celebrate your accomplishment and join up with your race partner at Raley Field for some post race food, drinks and entertainment.
Medals
Our one-of-a-kind Shamrock’n medal will be given out at each leg. Finishers of the first leg will receive their medal at the exchange zone. The runner of leg two will receive their medal when they cross the finish line.
Awards
The top three All Male, All Female and Co-Ed teams will receive awesome awards for their outstanding effort and ALL participants receive what we think is the coolest Shamrock’n Finisher’s Medal.
